These are the roads worth driving, and you drive every metre of them with VIP access. The one long, empty stretch — Kuqa to Kashgar — is a direct flight of about 1 hour, instead of 700km through the uninhabited Taklamakan Desert with no fuel stations and no phone signal. A business van handles the Kashgar and Pamir section. No day is spent fully in a vehicle.

The final quote depends on travel dates, group size, domestic flights, hotel level, vehicle type and route feasibility. The sales team will confirm all inclusions before payment.

• Transportation: 24-hour exclusive airport transfer services available in Urumqi, Kuqa and Kashgar. A one-way flight ticket from Kuqa to Kashgar is included. A recreational vehicle (RV) will be used for the route from Urumqi to Kuqa on Days 2 to 6, and a business car will be arranged for travel around Kashgar on Days 8 to 9.
