Southern Xinjiang Wilderness Expedition: A Luxury RV Journey Through Bosten Lake & Pamir Plateau · 10 Days
10-Day Private RV Journey: Bosten Lake, Pamir Plateau & Southern Xinjiang Exploration

Perfect for RV lovers – lakeside camps, double poplar forests, Pamir views, and a relaxed pace.
Why this route works
- 🚐 The RV is the soul of this route — here's what it gives you:
- You sleep inside the scenery — three RV camping nights, each in a different landscape. Beside Bosten Lake, at the edge of the Kuqa poplar forests, and on the shores of Karakul Lake on the Pamir Plateau — a different view outside your window every night. Regular tourists are cleared out of the scenic areas by 6pm; your RV stays right inside, with sunset, stars, and sunrise from your own doorstep. No hotel on earth can offer this.
- The RV is both your transport AND your room. By day it carries you across the Tianshan, from Bosten Lake all the way to the Pamir Plateau; by night it becomes your bedroom in the middle of the scenery. No packing up, no driving 1-2 hours back to a hotel — the scenery is literally outside your window all night.
- VIP drive-in — no shuttle bus queues. The RV drives straight into the scenic cores. No transfers, no long walks. While others wait in line, you just go.
- Private bathroom, always available. Clean flush toilet and hot shower on board — no worrying about public toilets in remote southern Xinjiang. Drink water freely, no rationing.
- You don't drive — your driver is your trip host. A professional driver-guide handles every road and everything around it: camp setup, hot pot dinners, drone photos of your family, luggage, check-ins. You simply enjoy.
- Fully flexible nights. If you ever prefer a hotel over the RV on a camping night, the driver takes you — no questions asked. Camping and hotels are combined by design, so you get the scenery AND the comfort.
- 3 nights RV camping + 5 nights 4-5 diamond hotels — wilderness and comfort, without compromise. The three camping nights — Bosten Lake, Kuqa, and Karakul Lake — put you to sleep inside the scenery. The hotel nights — 5-diamond Korla, 4-5 diamond Aksu, and three consecutive nights in 5-diamond Kashgar — give you proper showers, real beds, and full rest. No repacking every day.
- 🍽️ Meals on the road — simple, delicious, zero cooking:
- The RV has a full kitchen and fridge, but you never have to cook. Before entering the scenic areas, your driver stops at local markets where you pick up ready-made food — roasted lamb, hand-pulled noodles, naan — plus fresh fruit and nuts. At the campsite, your driver sets up a picnic under the open sky: sunset over Bosten Lake, a table of good food, no cooking, no dishes. Want the full experience? Buy hot pot ingredients (sliced lamb, vegetables, broth) at the market and the driver cooks a steaming hot pot right at the camp. Meals become part of the scenery.
- 🏜️ Scenic highlights — every stop earns its place:
- Bosten Lake (D2): Xinjiang's largest freshwater lake. The RV drives the full lakeside loop road, and you camp at the shore camp — sunset over the lake from your own doorstep.
- Twin Poplar Forests (D3-D4): Tata Secret Poplar Forest and Luntai Poplar Forest — two completely different styles in one trip: poplars rising from the water and poplars standing in the desert. Both at their golden best in autumn.
- Wensu Grand Canyon (D5): Red sandstone canyons carved by wind and water. The RV drives straight into the canyon — dramatic, spectacular, and incredibly photogenic.
- Kashgar Old City (D6/D8-D9): A living thousand-year-old Silk Road city. One full free day to explore at your own pace — the opening ceremony at the city gate, the century-old teahouse, the Apak Hoja Mausoleum. Walk when you want, sit when you want.
- Pamir Plateau (D7-D8): White Sand Lake's turquoise water, Karakul Lake mirroring the 7,546m Muztagh Ata glacier. You spend the night at the Karakul Lake RV camp — wake up to golden mountains at sunrise, right from your RV doorstep.
