A business van meets you at the station and takes you VIP into the Kumtag Desert, the Tuyugou Grand Canyon, and the Grape Valley. After sightseeing, take the bullet train back to Urumqi in the evening. Driving this route means 6 hours on a boring Gobi highway — the bullet train saves you 3+ hours of road time and lets you arrive fresh.
• RV (D4-D9):​ The RV takes over for the entire Ili section — Duku Highway, Nalati, Kuerdunin, Kalajun, Guozigou Bridge, and Sayram Lake. These are the roads worth driving, and you drive every metre of them with VIP access.
