• Kashgar → Urumqi (direct flight, D5):​ A morning flight from Kashgar to Urumqi — about 2 hours instead of a multi-day drive across the Taklamakan Desert. A business van meets you at the airport, you check into your hotel, and you're ready for the next leg. Without this flight, you'd lose 2-3 days of your trip just crossing the desert.
• Urumqi → Yining (direct flight, D5-D6 transition):​ After arriving in Urumqi, you connect to the RV section. The flight connection means you don't waste a day driving across the Gobi.
• Yining → Altay (direct flight, D10):​ A morning direct flight from Yining to Altay — about 1.5 hours instead of 12 hours of winding mountain passes. A business van meets you at the airport, and you're in Altay by the afternoon, ready for the Kanas and Hemu section. The flight saves you a full day of mountain driving.
